The fourth show of the festival needed no great introduction, as the city’s closet and what else call ‘niche’ rock-blues fans mixed riffs with brew. The evening kicked off with the Kolkata band Plan B that blew versions of songs that were undeniably popular, patched with unique vocals. The second performance settled the groove, as Menwhopause, did what they were best at – fusing blues with rock, racing beats and bass along with screaming vocals. The last band, Skinny Alley, stirred a good response as their female vocalist plunged into a soup of likeable rhythms. Their music steered into gamut genres; leaving one wishing, only if they’d stuck to blues.

first of all a 'band' if, i can be pardoned for calling em one ,like menwhopause has to learn to be not like a mix of alice in chains met kurt cobain on a japanese bullet train and did speed while writing incredibaly bad lyrics !! then maybe people can start to consider them a real band ! secondly if they want to be as innovatively new as they try so hard to be then they need to put a lot more effort and not just crawl safely under the bar recklessly set by tenured asswipes like themclones etc ... or in the words of the great eddie van halen "just beat it"
We had a Mayo get together last evening. I don’t remember the names but some of you juniors (or seniors I guess) were talking about you and Jim Morrison.
hehe
man, I so miss the sounds of a live rock band here in the boondocks!
Jerry, dude soons Im back in town, we got us some major giggin to do!
Skinny Alleys good man, I heard them during the pub fest a while ago and Menwhopause are an old fav, Inexile dude, cmon dont you think thats a little harsh? Be cool...
inexile: they have their flashes of brilliance. don't know when you last heard them last. for me its one of the few bands, i really like. i can't stand orange street and nor them clones. parikrama's been playing the same stuff for ages. there're some north-eastern bands that have been comng to town, (soulmate) and they sound much cooler with their blues and rock n' roll. MWP does sound Grunge meet a bit confusion, but dude i don't mind their music much, i see hope there. its fun. and they'll pull it off really cool on a longer run, or so i think. cheers!
whitelight: fuck, one reason why i just dont want to got for reunions (even if its the free booze!) like I told you Mr Mojo for me was a great en route to escape. now i've grown into the Keef-fold. and that i guess is life. after all you have to look back and laugh at something, right? heh
dude: cheers, sure good times keep comin... :)
