Why do people (who don't smoke) get offended when you ask them for a light? Its hardly as if I'm asking for their girl's number.

Well jerry, for my part, I’ve personally never come across anybody (non-smoker) get hostile when offered a light, but the only thing that explains what u’ve come thru is that some ppl are way much bigger fans of their lungs then you think they are. So suggesting them a drag is like givin them a knife n askin them to try slitting their insides. He he…. paint quite a picture, don’t I? Guess all am tryin to say is that just like it’s nobody’s (non-smoker) damn business if you smoke dope or cut urself fr fun, its equally none of your business to try and scrutinize why some people go awry when you ask em to try doin the same. So the next time that happens…. just shut that lil thing, slip it back inside and chant grace fr the fact that their still are peeps around who get wht the whole “injurious to your health” crap means.
Hey, all I ask them (very polietly) is whether they have a light (matchbox, lighter, or a flame thrower etc). I'm oblivious to their sensibities. Never tried offering them a drag or suggesting anything. Its not that big a deal, they just get pricked.
But a funny thing, notice how the cigarettes don't taste the way they first did.
it does happen.
